With Sarah Wills Photography

Carve out a reputation in your industry for being uniquely you and make the impact that motivated you to start your business in the first place with a business branding photoshoot in Clapham, London.

It starts with compliments: “I love what you’ve done with your website!” & “Your Instagram profile is stunning.”

Then more eyes on your business: You notice more people are browsing your website for longer, deciding to keep in touch by joining your email list, following you on socials or booking a discovery call. Your social media posts make more of a splash as people respond to authentic, professionally shot photos of you with likes, comments, shares and direct messages and in turn, the algorithm pushes your content out to more people.

This results in more opportunities for your business: “I love what you’re all about, will you share your expertise at this event?”, “I’ve sent so-and-so your way because I think they’ll love what you do” & “You seem like you know what you’re doing with X, can you help me?”

Marketing with professional brand photos stands out, creates greater connection and establishes you as an authority in what you do. All while making you feel more confident in promoting your business and selling yourself because you have gorgeous photos across your online presence that make you feel like the real deal. Talking of confidence…

An example of a brand photo. A woman wearing an Autism T-shirt sits on a bench in a park reading a book.

Here’s my process for putting you at ease during the branding photoshoot and taking photos you love to share.

When you book a branding photoshoot, my first priority is to get to know you. I need to understand who you are, what you do, what you like, what you want from your photos and how you’re going to use them. Your vision determines the kind of photos we will take and the locations we’ll go to during the business photoshoot. I collect this information through an onboarding questionnaire and a planning call. The call is also an opportunity to build a relationship before the shoot so you feel more comfortable and relaxed in front of the camera.

Once I get a sense of your values and vibe, I can start planning locations and a shot list. I shoot in locations around London, not just my home of Clapham. Additional charges may apply if you would like me to travel outside of London. I’ll put together a Pinterest board that represents what I’m aiming for in the branding photoshoot for you to review and contribute to. I always book a follow-up call to run everything past you and give you all the information you need before the shoot such as advice on outfits and my plan for how the day will go.

My priority on the day of your business photoshoot is you. I do what I can to help you feel comfortable and shine in front of the camera. So we usually grab a coffee and have a chat first. There’s no pressure to rush from location to location or switch between outfits. I’m happy to see where each location takes us. By helping you to feel at ease, I can photograph candid moments that are true to you. Finally, you decide which of the photos you like most and I edit them before sharing the brand photos with you in an online gallery.

Whether you need the kinds of work/lifestyle shots I need for my business or more corporate style headshots, you need to contact Sarah Wills! She’s not a one-size-fits-all photographer; she listens to what you want to get out of the shoot and then tailors it to suit you and your business.

Before the shoot, we discussed what I wanted to use the pictures for and made a list of shots we needed to capture.

On the day, even though we were in the middle of a busy city, she brilliantly captured images that embody the calm and quiet vibe I was going for – people get worked up over writing, but I work with my clients to make writing easy. The photos I use on my website and in my marketing need to show that – thanks to Sarah, they do!

You can view my gallery for an idea of the kind of photos I deliver. I’d describe my photography style as natural, relaxed and led by each client’s brand personality. I enjoy photographing people and capturing who they are. Awkward posing and heavy editing dilute your personality and create a distance between you and your audience. You are more likely to feel confident sharing and your audience is more likely to connect with photos that are naturally you.

It depends on what you plan to do with the photos.

If you’re looking for headshots for the company’s Meet The Team page or a new LinkedIn photo, a couple of photos per person is enough.

If you’re looking for photos for your whole website or an event marketing campaign, I’d suggest at least 20. We can take a mix of headshots and photos that show you in action or in a background that tells your story.

If you will be using the photos on a regular basis such as in your email newsletter, on your social media profile or in other marketing campaigns, the bigger packages of 50 or 150 photos will keep you going for longer.

You can always come back for more if you run out of photos, want seasonal photos or need to update your images.

First and foremost, what you feel comfortable in. There’s no pressure to dress up. I want you to feel relaxed on the day so you look relaxed in your photos.

Secondly, consider what represents your brand. You could dress in your brand colours so your photos complement your website and other marketing materials. You could wear what you usually wear when working with clients like your yoga outfit if you’re a yoga teacher. It communicates what you do and gives an insight into who they will be working with. We can discuss your outfit options during the photoshoot planning process. Read my how to choose the right outfit for your photoshoot blog.

Most people aren’t! Unless you’re a model, you don’t spend your day-to-day figuring out how to look good in front of the camera. My first priority is to make you feel at ease and relaxed throughout the process. As I take the time to understand your brand personality and what you want from the photoshoot, I can direct you on what to do in front of the camera to get flattering photos that fulfil their purpose. Trust me, no matter how camera-shy you are, we can get the photos you’re after.

Yes! Some of my clients have a specific vision of what they want from their photoshoot. Others just know they need photos. I’ve built the planning process to cater to both situations including coming up with the shot list and finding on-brand locations around Clapham and London. I’ll ask the right questions to understand how to approach the photoshoot to produce photos you’re happy with.

Photos make growing a business easier. Using professional photography of you (and your team) on your website, in your social media content and weaved into other marketing materials means you are more likely to get noticed, be remembered, create connections with people and build trust. That’s because the visuals in your marketing are unique, tell your story and share your personality, show the person behind the business and shine a light on your professionalism.

As a small business, you’re going to do some kind of marketing activity to reach, interact with and convert more clients. You might as well make your marketing efforts more impactful by booking a business branding photoshoot
